TRAVEL AND LODGING
Travel
Our preferred airport is Atlanta Hartsfield International. It is also the only one with daily shuttles to Auburn. When you land in Atlanta you will be on eastern time. During the 1 1/2 hour shuttle or rental car ride to Auburn you will change to central time (an hour earlier). Montgomery, Alabama and Birmingham, Alabama airports are similar in distance from Auburn if you prefer a flight or deal other than Atlanta.
For winter and spring clinics: Check in is at 8am on Saturday and clinic ends at 3pm on Sunday. You may want to travel on Friday - you would need a very early morning flight to get to clinic by start time if you fly in on Saturday. You will also need a late flight out on Sunday if you choose to fly home that day. 8:30pm or later Eastern time should work [based on Atlanta airport travel]. Riders and guardians will need to make their own lodging and transportation arrangements . Lunch is provided for riders only.
For Summer Camps: Check-in for camps starts at 1pm Monday and camp ends 11am on Thursday. Riders will be provided food, transportation, and housing during camp. Guardians must make their own accommodations.
-If any riders are using Groome Shuttle from the Atlanta airport, please let us know your itinerary, and make your reservation to be dropped off/picked back up at the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center dropoff/pickup spot.
Lodging in Auburn
MAKE HOTEL AND RENTAL CAR RESERVATIONS EARLY. Visit auburnalabama.org if you'd like to see all your options. We recommend the Auburn University Hotel and Dixon Conference Center because it's our nicest hotel and is centrally located in the middle of our little downtown area, right across from campus. The Collegiate is our first boutique hotel and is also right downtown, on Gay Street. Also nice and slightly closer to the horse center are the TownePlace Suites, Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn, all on south College Street and about 5-10 minutes from the equestrian center.
